How Google picks the clinics it shows
For local searches Google mainly looks at three things:
- Relevance: does your profile and website match what was searched (for example "implants" or "children’s dentist")?
- Distance: how close the clinic is to the person or to the area named in the search.
- Prominence: how well known and trusted the clinic is, mostly through reviews, ratings, links and mentions.
You cannot move your clinic, so work on relevance and prominence.
1. Google Business Profile (the most important step)
- Claim and verify your profile.
- Choose the primary category Dentist (or Dental clinic), and add specific ones such as Cosmetic dentist, Orthodontist or Dental implants periodontist only if they are true.
- Use your real clinic name. Adding keywords to the name breaks Google’s rules and can get the profile suspended.
- Exact address, map pin, phone, opening hours and holiday hours.
- Add every service with a short description, and real photos of the clinic, team and equipment.
- Post updates or offers regularly, and answer questions in the Q&A.
2. Reviews: many, recent and genuine
Reviews are one of the strongest local signals and they also convince patients.
- Ask every satisfied patient, at checkout, with a direct link to your review page sent on WhatsApp.
- Never buy reviews or write them yourself. Google removes them and may penalise the profile.
- Reply to every review, good or bad, politely and without patient details.
- Ask patients to mention the treatment and area naturally, for example "my implant at the Nasr City clinic".
3. A website that Google understands
- One clear page per main service (implants, orthodontics, veneers, children’s dentistry), each saying the area you serve.
- Your name, address and phone exactly as on Google, on every page.
- Structured data that tells Google you are a dentist, with your address, hours and phone.
- Fast on phones, with call, WhatsApp and book buttons always visible.
- Real photos, doctors’ names and qualifications, and before-and-after cases with consent.
- Answers to common questions (price ranges, pain, how many visits).
4. Online booking
Many patients search late at night. If they can book a real free time on your website, they do not need to call tomorrow, and they do not move on to the next clinic.
5. Be mentioned elsewhere
List the clinic with the same name, address and phone on medical directories, maps and social media. Local news, community pages and partnerships (schools, companies) add trust.
6. Measure
Google Business Profile shows calls, direction requests and website clicks. Google Search Console shows what people searched to find your site. Ask every new patient how they found you, and record it.
Searches to aim for
Patients search in their own words, in Arabic and English. Make sure your pages naturally answer searches like:
- "dentist in [area]" and "best dental clinic in [area]"
- "dental implants in [area]", "braces in [area]"
- "عيادة أسنان في [المنطقة]" and "أفضل دكتور أسنان في [المنطقة]"
How OdenteQ helps
The OdenteQ clinic website is built for this: fast pages, your details in the format Google reads (Dentist structured data with address, hours and phone), your questions as FAQ data, a sitemap, Arabic and English pages, a mobile bar with call, WhatsApp and book, and online booking from your real calendar.
Questions
How do I get my dental clinic to the top of Google Maps?
Complete and verify your Google Business Profile with the right category, accurate details and real photos, collect many recent genuine reviews, keep your name, address and phone identical everywhere, and link a fast website with clear service pages.
Should I add keywords to my clinic name on Google?
No. Use your real clinic name. Adding words like "best dentist" to the name is against Google’s guidelines and can get the profile suspended.
